Die Geburt der B-chen
Vier Tage vor dem errechneten Geburts-termin schenkte Smilla neun Welpen das Leben - sieben Mädchen und zwei Jungs - alle samt sehr proppere "Kerlchen" mit einem Geburtsgewicht von ca. 400 Gramm.
Sofort wurde die Tipp Ex-Flasche geöffnet und jeder Welpe bekam mit einem Pinselchen seine Erkennungspünktchen auf das Fell getupft (die Jungs am Nacken, die Mädchen am Popo).
Nach einer Woche ...
... guter Ernährung mit reichhaltiger Muttermilch und viel viel Schlaf haben die B-chen ihr Gewicht bereits verdoppelt.
Noch sind die Augen der Kleinen verschlossen und hören können sie auch noch nichts. Aber sie sind wohlauf und werden liebevoll von Smilla versorgt. Die beiden Züchterinnen sind jetzt noch eher in der Rolle der Beobachter, da die Hundemama selbst am besten weiß, was in dieser Phase zu tun ist. Nur das Schneiden der winzigen Fußnägel überlässt Smilla lieber ihren beiden Züchterinnen.
Am Ende der zweiten Lebenswoche ...
... haben die Welpen ihr Gewicht erneut verdoppelt. Die Erstgeborene (1-Punkt-Mädchen) ist besonders propper und wird schon mal liebevoll "Rollbraten" von ihren Menschen genannt.
Noch eine Woche warten - dann wird die Wurfkiste für Besucher geöffnet und wir können uns die Rasselbande live ansehen.
Dass die Zeit aber auch nicht rum gehen will ...

Four days before the calculated birth date, Smilla gave life to nine puppies - seven girls and two boys - all with very proppere "puppies" with a birth weight of about 400 grams.
Immediately the tip-ex-bottle was opened and each puppy got with a brush his recognition spooks spotted on the fur (the boys on the neck, the girls at the popo). After a week good diet with rich breast milk and a lot of sleep, the B-chen have already doubled their weight.
The eyes of the little ones are still closed and they cannot hear anything yet. But they are well and lovingly cared for by Smilla. The two breeders are now even more in the role of observers, since the dog mama itself knows best what to do at this stage. Only the cutting of the tiny toe nails Smilla prefers to leave to her two breeders.
At the end of the second week of life the puppies have doubled their weight again. The firstborn (1-point girl) is particularly propper and is already affectionately called "roll roast" by her people.
Wait another week - then the litter box will be opened for visitors and we can watch the rattlesnake gang live.
